ABOUT US

In early 2020 Melbourne funeral directors, Troy and Liddy Upfield purchased the estate and continue the work by its past owners. Plans are underway for a new Chapel, Arts and Culture Centre, and further reflection spaces around the lake.

Troy and Liddy Upfield

Troy and Liddy Upfield founded Chapter House Funerals in 2016 with the intent to re-examine dated notions of how a funeral home should service the community. Central to their vision was the idea that each funeral should be as unique as the life being honoured, and so it followed that the memorial service should not be bound by traditional ‘rules’ and antiquated norms. The transition then from funeral directors to memorial park entrepreneurs seemed a natural one. Troy and Liddy are proud to facilitate Victoria’s only private memorial park.

Troy started as a funeral director’s assistant and felt a pull to an industry with the hallmark being care and compassion. For many years Troy has been passionate about helping the community and children in need, has served as Board member for Solve Disability Solutions, Vice Chairman of the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre (CPEC) for ten years, and founded the Equipment and Teaching Aids Fund for children with disabilities at CPEC. Troy is a five times Chain Reaction Foundation Cyclist.

Liddy has extensive experience in providing Human Resource, General Management and Executive Assistance. As a previous small business owner in the beauty industry, Liddy has worked in Human Resources in the automotive industry and more recently was HR Manager of GAC Australia Pty Ltd (Orthodontics Supplier) Liddy is a partner of Chapter House and COO.
